Riverside, Ca- On September 23, 2002, at approximately 0414 hours, police officers responded to a public phone located to the front of La Macarena Market at 6225 Tyler Avenue in response to a request for assistance from a stabbing victim. The stabbing victim identified himself as Manuel Oregel Garcia. Mr. Garcia is 55 year-old and homeless.
Mr. Garcia had suffered four (4) knife wounds while sweeping the business parking lot. Mr. Garcia was transported to Riverside Community Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Mr. Garcia described the stabbing suspect as follows:
Hispanic Male Adult approx. 30 years old, Shaved Head, 5’03”, 115 lbs., thin moustache and numerous tattoos, possible moniker of “Smiley.”
