Riverside, Ca- On
Saturday, July 6, 2002 at approximately 8:30 P.M., officers from the Riverside
Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing victim that had knocked on
a resident’s door in the 2600 block of Fairmount Blvd. Upon arrival they found the victim had been stabbed in the
upper body and had gone to the residence seeking help. Medical aid personnel responded and transported the victim to
Riverside Community Hospital for treatment.
The victim told Officers he was somewhere in Fairmount Park when he was
confronted by the suspect and stabbed for no apparent reason.
Officers were unable to locate a crime scene at the park.
The
victim, identified as Brandon Potts, of Riverside, was admitted to the hospital
in stable condition. The suspect
was described as John or Jason, a White male adult, 19-23 years old, wearing
blue jeans, no shirt and a red ball cap. He
was last seen riding an unknown type bicycle at the park.
