Riverside - At approximately 7:07pm on 12-16-02, officers
responded to the intersection of Linden and Canyon Crest regarding an RTA bus
collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival to the scene of the collision,
officers discovered that the involved pedestrian was trapped under the rear axle
of the RTA bus.
Personnel from the Riverside Fire Department worked diligently to free the
pedestrian from beneath the bus. Officers from the Major Accident Investigation
Team responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. The cause of the
collision has not been determined pending further investigation into the
collision.
The pedestrian was transported to Riverside Community Hospital to be treated for
her injuries.
