IOWA AVENUE AND LINDEN STREET CLOSURES
(A Caltrans I-215 Improvement Project)

Beginning in April 2004, Caltrans will begin freeway work that will affect traffic in the City of Riverside. As part of this project, Caltrans will be closing Linden Street and Iowa Avenue to work on the freeway bridges. The reconstruction of the 60/91/215 Interchange is part of the largest and most complex project in the Inland Empire.

Both bridges are being worked on at once so that construction will only affect traffic in the City for 15 months. The alternative of working on each bridge separately would have caused the project to affect traffic for 3 years. We ask for your patience and understanding as the traffic detours are part of a very large Caltrans project that is much needed and will ultimately improve traffic congestion on the freeways and in the City.

Residents should contact Caltrans for more information of planned construction activities and helpful commuting tips for the 60/91/215 Freeway Improvement Project at the following website:

or call Caltrans at: 1-866-609-1215

If residents have concerns about local traffic flow that we can improve during the project, call the City of Riverside's Call Center at 951-826-5311 so that we can investigate the problem.

City Traffic Engineer
