Neighborhood Organizations
There is power
in numbers! Your neighborhood's unified voice at City Hall will not only work to get needed city
services like traffic control and graffiti removal but also help City Hall better understand and
focus on your neighborhood's unique concerns.
Neighborhood organizations pull residents together to prevent crime, reduce blight, and tackle issues that threaten neighborhood stability. They also take on beautification projects and help you meet your neighbors. You will make friends and have fun in the process.
Get Organized!
- Conduct effective meetings with the Neighborhood Toolkit
- Identify resources to tackle issues
- Apply for matching grants for neighborhood projects
- Participate in the Neighborhood Partnership
- Write neighborhood newsletters and set up neighborhood websites
- Share news and information
- Participate in neighborhood awards programs
Riverside Neighborhood Partnership
Neighborhood Councils
In May of 2010 the Mayor and City Council endorsed the formation of Neighborhood Councils in each of the 26 community neighborhoods within the City’s General Plan. The goal of creating neighborhood councils is to create and improve two-way communication between City Hall and neighborhoods and provide an even greater opportunity for citizens to participate in the civic process.
