Graffiti

Community Involvement
A crucial part of any Public Education Program is to create partnerships between the groups of people that make up the community. With the support of the community Riverside will strengthen the efforts in graffiti prevention.
The second Wednesday of every month, the public is invited to join City, County, School Districts, KRCB, and other community members to share information and strategies to reduce graffiti. The meetings are held at the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, 3985 University Avenue in Riverside.
Community Program Options
- Public outreach through newsletters and Riverside Monthly and City's webpage
- Outreach through neighborhood groups; neighborhood graffiti watch, or adopt-a-block (hot spot areas such as high profile bridges and underpasses)
- Outreach program to re-channel tagger activities (perhaps through partnerships with Arts and Cultural Affairs, and Riverside Metropolitan Museum, Parks and Recreation, Housing and Neighborhoods)
- Outreach to homeowner associations to educate them in addressing graffiti problems (particularly the five strategies concept)
