4th of July
Spectacular at the Riverside Sports Complex. |
The City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community
Services Department is proud to present the 4th of July Spectacular
at the Riverside Sports Complex. Enjoy live music as we celebrate
our country's independence. Gates open at 7pm and the fireworks show
begins promptly at 9pm. Children under 5 are free, $4 per person.
Tickets are on sale at the Parks, Recreation and Community Services
Department (3936 Chestnut St.).

City prepares for upcoming Van Buren Blvd project - begins July 6 |
Construction for the Van Buren Boulevard Widening project
begins July 6. As part of the City’s ongoing Riverside Renaissance,
this $22 million project will widen Van Buren Boulevard from two to
three lanes in each direction between Jackson Street and Jurupa
Avenue.

| Riverside Hosts Dog Licensing Amnesty Program |
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Riverside dog owners are encouraged to license their dogs during the months of July and August. All late fees and past due license amounts will be waived during July and August. Additionally dog owners will be able to license their dogs at 2008-09 rates during the two month amnesty program. Read more... |

Unanimous City Council action on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, established the City of Riverside as the "City of Arts & Innovation."
The concept to brand Riverside as the "City of Arts & Innovation" arose from the process of developing the Riverside Arts Plan and was approved on June 3, 2009, at Mayor Loveridge’s Cultural Accountability Performance (CAP) meeting. Read More... |

| Mayor takes on Action Challenge for Children and Families - Kicks Off with Free Financial Workshops |
What is more important than the well being of children and families? Mayor Ron Loveridge answers this question by taking on the National League of Cities’ (NLC) Action Challenge for Children and Families.
As a kickoff to this Challenge, in recognition of the worst economic crisis of our time, Mayor Loveridge and the City of Riverside have partnered with United Way of the Inland Valleys to host free financial workshops, titled Money Works, at various Park, Recreation, and Community Services centers in Riverside.
